The WRC/Wetskills Innovation Workshop targets emerging professionals and students interested in the water sector. This innovation workshop aims not only to identify practical and scalable solutions for sustainable water management but also to cultivate a strong sense of community, leadership, and innovation among Africa's future water stewards. It offers a unique and accessible space, particularly within the African context, for students and young professionals to collaborate across borders, expand their skills, and have their voices heard on a continental platform.
The workshop will be divided into two sessions to be held over a two-day period.
Session I, This session brings Symposium YPs and students into the innovation process, equipping them with practical tools and gathering fresh perspectives on team solutions. The session will kick off with a one-hour speed clinic revisiting action-planning and the Business Model Canvas, then move into an innovation-round "world café." Each of the four teams will remain stationed at their own table and deliver a 10-minute lightning pitch of their refined case, after which groups of new participants and students rotate through all four tables, fielding questions, offering targeted suggestions, and helping to sharpen each solution on the spot.
